Down Under Knives - Outback

The Outback™ features a forged, dual heat treated 440C stainless blade honed to a razor sharp edge. The back retains some spring to it while the edge has been made hard enough to withstand hundreds or thousands of cuts with no perceptible dulling. This is not a wall hanger - we set out to create the most devastatingly effective Bowie knife ever produced, and designed every detail like we mean it. Hack, slash, chop, cut, crush...

This is one blade that will never let you down. The handle is skillfully crafted out of genuine ebony, leather and brass with an ultra-strong tang that will not twist or break in heavy use.

The solid, bead blasted brass handguard and pommel complete the distinctive look. The Outback™ is truly both a great example of the knifemaker's art as well as the most rugged, dependable tool an outdoorsman could wish for.

google+ search getting better!

Siri is another Apple game changer!

Some have said that the iPhone 4s in not a major upgrade over the iPhone 4. Some were expecting a form-factor change and maybe a larger screen. I say Apple did the right thing. They took an exceptional device and made it fantastic. The so-called under the hood improvements are substantial and the fact that the form factor didn't change is a bonus for those of us who are comfortable with the current design. The new iPhone 4s is really an all-new phone but with the added benefit of keeping a beloved figure.

Segway Custom Handelbar Grips

The original grips were getting sticky so I replaced them with Custom Handelbar Grips that are in fact replacement tennis racquet grips. They are fast and easy to install and look great. They should also last a long time. The reason I had to do this is the original rubber grips were failing and were getting very sticky. Also see http://SegwayMoments.com

Standing Desk

This is the final configuration of my now "Standing Desk" workstation (at least for now). The desktop is 41" off the ground and the monitor shelf is 10" above the desktop. The monitor screens are 4", 5" & 6" above the shelf. This is because the three monitors are not matched. Come on Viewsonic standardize already! So far I'm happy with the standing desk.

Moore's Law and Business

Should you be concerned with Moore's Law?

Moore's law describes a long-term trend in the history of computing hardware. The number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years. This trend has continued for more than half a century and is expected to continue until 2015 or 2020 or later.

So, what does this mean to businesses? Simply put: Technology and especially the Internet needs to be take seriously. If you don't your competition will and given this exponential growth in the capabilities of technology to help a business those that choose to embrace and learn to leverage the Internet will have the advantage.

The good news is if you work with our experts we can actually show your team how to make the complicated seem easy. Work smarter not harder.

So, the take away message here is act now and as Moore's Law marches forward your business will be along for the exciting ride to come. - CraigShipp.com

CraigShipp.com - Photo Blog

More than 350 beautiful ladies dressed like Holly Golightly (Audry Hepburn in the 1961 film Breakfast At Tiffany's) and converged on historic downtown Frederick and Colonial Jewelers to raise money for the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund to fight cancer. After a social hour at Colonial they all went to the Weinberg Center to watch the movie. See the video at: www.frederick.com/Breakfast_At_Tiffanys_2011-a-1777.html

time-lapse By CraigShipp.COM

Using Timelapse Pro on my iPhone 4 I shot and created the video clip with the background music. I then saved the video clip to the camera roll in the iPhone. Then I synced the video clip into Aperture on my Mac (you can also use iPhoto or bring it direct into iMovie) Then I brought the video clip into iMovie and added titles and the voice over.

I shot this hand-held at f4 and 1/250th of a second because my 70-200 VRII is tack sharp at f4 and 1/250th is fast enough for portrait work. I also used some fill flash.

Jawbone Jambox Review and Sound Test

If pairing with a macbook pro be sure to select stereo device as the bluetooth option otherwise the sound will be poor. My iPad and iPhone paired great but the MacBook Pro the first time was garbled and then I tried again and selected stereo and it worked great.

The Language of Fear

Many modern, so called, news media outlets are now in the entertainment business. So, in many cases, you need to take what they say with a grain of salt. In fact what they say can be dangerous to your health!
